Losing Loved Ones....

Some time in the evening last night Vivian Kurts went home to be with the Lord.
That is a good thing! She was ready!
She was the mother of friend Charlotte, and grandma of my daughter-in-love ..and great grandma to some of my beautiful grandkids
But...
In as many losses as I have experienced, or been around those that have shared their loss of a loved one.... Many thoughts and feelings truly 'meander' thru our hearts and minds, don't they?
We were just talking about this on Sunday in our Sunday School class of all things, since 2 of my ladies have recently lost loved ones. One a Mother & One a Brother... We naturally go to the whys... Why this one so young, that one so old, why this one called out of life at the snap of a finger or this one to suffer pain so long.
We know about each kind on both sides of this family for sure!
It is appointed.. man will die... and face the judgment... tho as we said in class.. "We don't know when or how." One said.. as soon as we are born we are in the process of dying. hmm
It's hard to lose someone, harder yet to see them go thru a long periods of suffering before passing. But then...
There is "seeing" the grace of God work in some lives as they handle it all "amazingly" to say the least. I hope I shall, but I have my doubts to be honest.
There is "seeing" or "doing" the ministry to them with grace.. and faithfulness, no matter how long it is in this season.
There's families working together, assuming their part of the load to help each other and lighten the others load.
There's the abundant love shown and shared and poured out on each other.
There comes the time, sometimes, after a long haul when you are tired, if not just exhausted to the nth degree... but God.. gives that added strength or help just when needed, and we continue on..
We continue because of love... and we let our minds 'meander' to the old better days. We are filled with memories and funny stories, and 'genes' passed down! And at times can even chuckle. In a few days from passing, we Christians do a celebration of life, more commonly called a funeral. And remembrances will flow..
And, for the Christian... there's a hope that passes all understanding and a belief that there will be a "great gettin' up reunion!" with loved ones & Jesus!
        Oh to see Jesus!!
And If you know anything about the Hankla's... you KNOW they do reunions well, and often, and are prepared for the biggest one of all...

Our son did well in choosing his wife and in the process got the added blessings of her parents and other family members.
(and we did too)

What has the Lord shown us thru our caregiving & losses?  Lots for me.. and I'm sure for everyone else too.. (mostly about myself) and some questions may not be answered till heaven, or once we get there... "will it matter at all?"
I wonder.. just thinking outloud again ;-)
God's blessings & comfort to those experiencing loss now or to come..
Love you my family & friends!
