Foot Washing ~

Good Morning Dear Blog,
   I came across thoughts on Foot Washing... have you ever done any Foot Washing?
   Recently my husband Bud had back surgery, which meant, NO bending. So I foot washed & dried. (Not the first time)...but... I began to think of what is involved in Spiritual Foot Washing. Really No Feet involved in that.


As Christians, we do "Spiritual Foot Washing" to show how much we love people. We love them in spite of their sins, attitudes, and short-comings. We love them even when they hurt us. We love the un-lovely as well as the lovely people in our lives.


We are to "serve" one another. Remember?  Well Spiritual Foot Washing is an act that produces spiritual refreshing, renewal, spiritual cleansing.
   In Luke 6:36 we are told to "Give....."
Do you know that there are about 6 different kinds of "feet" that need washing? (could be more?)
    We have the Cold Feet.... these people are fearful of going on. Going on without someone, or going onward towards a new endeavor. Help them see, "yes you can." 
    We have the Hot Feet.... They flit here and there doing this and that, like a flea in a frying pan.  They never land/make a choice.  We need to calm them.
    There are Dragging Feet.... they are just sluggish and can't seem to catch up. How can we help?
    There are Tired Feet.... they've been fighting some sort of battle a long time and have grown tired. What can we do here?
    There are Dirty Feet.... they have walked the ways of the world, need cleansing and shown the way to a  clear/clean path.
    There are the Beautiful Feet.... People that need to "know"/ to"hear" that they are appreciated for all they do. I can think of a lot of people here, that never get a kind word or bit of thanks/praise.  (Hard working mates, Pastors, Teachers,  etc.)


Requirement for Foot Washing is love & servant spirit, 
which cannot take place apart from humility...

Real biblical "fellowship" with people includes....
unselfish  loving
honest   sharing
practical  serving
sacrificial  giving
sympathetic  comforting
AND all the "one another" commands in the New Testament...
      Anyone for "Foot Washing?" 
Jesus was a Foot Washer.... Are we?
