Tues. 10/26

What a wonderful day today... Crochet Ladies are back in session.
Don't you just love it when you can gather together with like-minded people and accomplish something. I DO!!
    Today several wonderful things happened!

Friends came to my house. We enjoyed the sun streaming in thru my big picture window and front door. Watched as the trees out front changed color. What a pretty sight!
We talked and laughed and some helped others to learn "a new thing."  When Janis finished her project she left me the Christmas table runner... how nice is that?
We talked about a lot of things, had coffee, and shared a devotional from Oswald Chambers wonderful little book called "My Utmost For HIS Highest."  Powerful stuff there.
And the topper of the day... Marlene brought Julia Faith, her granddaughter, and OUR GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER... #4 to be exact... she had spent the night at her Grandma's. What a treat that was to have some time with her. She's 3 now and that is a marvelous age! They repeat everything you say..  and all of life is a wonder to them. They giggle at the smallest things! Excitement once again permeated our walls. Grandpa Gulley had most of the morning to keep her occupied doing this and that and "eating." lol
I got very little done on my afghan.. going to see what they were up to, or chatting with Julia myself. Memories would flood back to the times of our grandchildren, and even our own children.  What precious times..  and those precious
times seem to have blocked out the tough times of growing up. :-)
Of course I never dwelt on the "tough" times, but enjoyed, cherished and I keep in my heart those wonderful fun times. Those little guys and gals turned into fine adults. The family is continuing on right before my eyes at times.
As the "kids" have grown up, and you see the wonderful things they are into, and ways they are serving, and growing in the Lord, ya can't help but wonder how that will influence the next generation. Doing good things "for others" in the church, family, community is my prayer. Our lives as Christians are to be "about others."

Yesiree! it has been a good and delightful day!!

              Till next time....
