Good Afternoon... I do hope your day is going well... mine is Better than it's been in a long while..
Why is it so hard to "really" own up to not being "perfect." To not having it all under control, to having some quirks that hurt feelings of others or simply rub them the wrong way? AND even if we know of some flaw in our make up, why can't we "man up" as they say, and get help, & work on being the person that others need, and also then being able to give others what they need too. HUMMM Can be a sticky wicket! Why, cause we would all rather be a "giver" not a "receiver" of critiques... ;-) right?
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies!!! We tear down relationships with family or friends and never even see it at all as us having an integral part in whatever.
BUT God... oh he is soo good to us even in the rough times. He will not leave us alone for sure, when we need an attitude check!
We first must be willing to accept constructive criticism for it to avail us anything. We must believe that some people really love and care for us. We must accept the 'wounds of a real friend.' Be that friend a family member... a friend... a person that God can put in our path and tell us like it is, lovingly.
Now then, there are people like me that really need to get hit over the head like the mule, for our attention to really be gotten. Are any of you out there like that? It is not a comfortable position to be in or to like.
First we are always accountable to God... and if we miss what he is saying... He can use anyone in an attempt to get us to admit fault/error, and then hopefully to apply the needed change.
We are blessed if we have a "friend" that will muster the courage in love to confront us. To help mold our character into something better than before..
I've come to the conclusion when we feel as tho everyone is attacking, there just might be some validity to what they are saying... so
The first and only person I am responsible for is me. And that goes for all of us, does it not?
What do I need to "adjust" in my attitudes? Actions? Responses? And therefore become the person that others need, and be of a real legitimate help to others too. ?
The Lord just blows my mind & spirit over & over, in the amazing ways that He does things...
Our 4 weeks of study in May... Extraordinary Relationships..
1st Sunday delved into getting our MOST Important Relationship Right, and that is with Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, All else will fall into place much easier WHEN that is a *real* relationship and it is right, true, with no walls between us.
Then honoring Him, in the way we "show" love to family, friends, work colleagues.
Show Trust by Obeying Him..
Live Out God's Wisdom
Choose God's Ways
2nd Sunday we delved into Building the Homes We Need...
then we need to apply biblical common sense principles from the study of the word to build those homes.
Be Trustworthy
Be Responsible
Be Godly
3rd Sunday we delved into Becoming A Person Others Need...
We CAN develop character that has a positive benefit on the people we care about.
Work Diligently
Demonstrate Integrity
Exhibit Purity
4th Sunday we shall delve into Giving Others What They Really Need.... We can develop extraordinary friendships by investing in the lives of others, for Christ.
Be Lovingly Honest
Actually Help
Sharpen One Another...
These lessons were taken from Proverbs...
AND For all it's magnificent loftiness, the Bible is an immensely practical book!
And for my benefit, a friend was lovingly honest about something and is helping to sharpen me...
We most assuredly need Accountability one to another,
to grow and become all that is good, right, beneficial not only for our own selves but for others too...
(no where is the word easy found in anything that is of change, be it attitudes, or habits, or whatever... but the Lord is always there, and a trusty friend will be too)
God Bless ... Till Next time...
